Dear Mr. Treich:

On May 10th of this year, my husband and I were driving to Pennsylvania to attend our grandson's first communion. We were driving from Manhattan when our car broke down. After waiting on the highway for more than an hour we were finally towed to a garage, where we were told they could do nothing for us since it was so close to quitting time. It was a Friday night and everyone was in a hurry to get home. The Tow Truck driver towed us to the "Long Hill Auto Service" garage, it was close to quitting time there also, however; Mr. Arlotta did say he would take a look at the car. He made no promises of being able to fix it that evening, but said he would try. To make a very long story short, after several hours of patience and hard work, and several calls to his wife to cancel plans that they had for the evening, and many calls to his friends to see if they had any ideas as to how to solve the problem, I called a halt to this exercise in futility around 10:00 p.m. Mr. Arlotta was kind enough to drive us around looking for a place to stay for the evening, which we did find on the second try, and Mr. Arlotta was kind enough to stay with us until we were all checked in. The next day, being a Saturday, it was going to be very difficult to find a parts store open, but by some miracle he found one, many miles away. He sent one of his mechanics to pick up the part and after our car was fixed and washed, he personally picked us up at the hotel and brought us to the garage to pick up our car. Mr Arlotta didn't charge us for all of the hours he had worked on the car Friday evening. He charged for the part, and for only a portion of the time he spent working on the car. Needless to say, if he ws closer to us, we would use him all of the time. His work was that good, and his caring was something you just don't find today. After sending us on our way, we were very surprised when on Tuesday morning my husband received a call from Mr. Arlotta to see if we got to Pennsylvania and home again without any more trouble. We were so impressed with Mr. Arlotta's honesty and concern for two stranded strangers, that I wanted to share our story with you. It is very refreshing to come acros someone of his caliber. Your community should be very proud of him.

Yours Truly,

Fran N.
